Contemporary Motorsport Artist : Sarah Bennett-Baggs

I was born in Royston, Hertfordshire and grew up driving round the country lanes of Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, I studied art at the Wisbech Isle of Ely college of Art where from an early stage I developed an unhealthy interest in painting automotive subjects.

After various jobs in advertising and marketing in the Automotive industry I graduated into the world of motorsport and have lived and worked in this industry for the last 15 years.

For the last five years I have been competing in various saloon car championships including 24hr endurance races which although are physically and mentally challenging, they are hugely rewarding and there is nothing quite like it.

I have a passion for historic and classic cars, their beautiful lines, colours and style. One of the things I love about Motorsport is its complete unpredictability, you never know quite what is going to happen next and have to be ready for anything and be able to adapt to a change of plan at the drop of a hat. I thrive on the adrenaline of this sport.

I have always done the standard commissions of race cars for people, but since racing myself I love trying to capture the atmosphere of night racing there is nothing quite like it. I live and breath motorsport and I enjoy expressing my enthusiasum on large format canvas with virbrant colours. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy painting them!
